Speakers

Keynote: Jonathan Pennington

Jonathan T. Pennington is currently Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky (USA). Additionally, he regularly serves as a visiting professor at various schools as well as church-based theological institutes. He is also one of the Teaching Pastors at Sojourn East and regularly speaks and teaches in churches all over the country.

He earned a B.A. in History as well as a Teaching Certificate from Northern Illinois University. He received the Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Chicago), where he also taught Greek for two years as a NT Fellow. During his time at TEDS he also served for five years as the Associate Pastor at the Evangelical Free Church of Mt. Morris in northern Illinois.

He holds the PhD in New Testament Studies from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland (in St. Mary’s College), where he wrote a thesis entitled “Heaven and Earth in the Gospel of Matthew” under the supervision of Professors Richard Bauckham and Philip Esler. He attended St. Andrews as a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar and while there he also served as a lecturer in Greek. Dr. Pennington is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the Evangelical Theological Society, the Tyndale Fellowship (Cambridge), and the Institute for Biblical Research. He has published a wide variety of books, articles, and Greek and Hebrew language tools. He is the also the host and co-producer of the YouTube show Cars, Coffee, Theology.

Harry Nelson

  • Harry Nelson serves as the President & Chief Executive Officer of Provision Financial Resources. Provision aims to encourage and enable wise financial stewardship for the glory of God and the good of the world. Provision is the trust affiliate of NC Baptists and offers investments, trust services, and other financial services to individuals, Christian organizations, and churches. Harry is responsible for the overall leadership of the organization. Prior to joining Provision in 2023, Harry was with Eventide Asset Management where he held several leadership roles including serving as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. Before that, Harry was President of GuideStone Capital Management. A recognized leader in the faith-based investing industry, he has an extensive investment and financial services career having held leadership roles at Eventide, GuideStone, Golden Capital Management (now Allspring Global Investments), Charles Schwab, and First Union (now Wells Fargo) Institutional Trust division.

    Harry earned a Bachelor of Arts at The Citadel and a Master of Arts in Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. He has earned a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation from the Investments and Wealth Institute and taught in conjunction with the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

    Harry has served on the Board of the Charlotte Institute for Faith and Work and the Christian Investment Forum. He is a member of the Southeastern Society at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and is a member of Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville, NC. Harry enjoys spending time with his family and is a trail runner.

Dwayne Milioni

  • Dwayne Milioni is a pastor, professor, Co-Founder and Board Chairman of the Pillar Network, and the General Editor of the CSB Jesus Daily Bible. He and his wife Kay moved to the Raleigh area from Virginia, where they both received Masters Degrees. Dwayne graduated with his Ph.D. from Southeastern Seminary, where he enjoys teaching classes in counseling and preaching. Dwayne and Kay have four children: Cameron, Victoria, Derek, and Gabriel.
